Pearl-HarborToday we commemorate Pearl Harbor Day. On December 7, 1941, Japan attacked the U.S. Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, crippling the U.S. Pacific Fleet. This sent the United States into World War II. Four U.S. Navy Battleships were attacked and sank. As a result, on December 8, 1941, the U.S. waged war on Japan.

Regardless of where the war is or how short it may be, it leaves a horrible scar on the military personnel affected by hostile confrontations and their families, which could be devastating. The memories of Pearl Harbor may not be forgotten, but with our resiliency, we continue to look up, to grow stronger than we ever have and forge ahead with hope and courage.

Let us not forget the 2,401 that were fatally wounded and the other 1,282 casualties on that day in December. We salute the remaining survivors from the Pearl Harbor attack and their families.
