We were ecstatic to discover that members from the Greensboro Grasshoppers, a minor league baseball team from Greensboro, North Carolina made a pledge to donate $50,000 to charity at the end of their baseball season. In addition, if the squad made it to the South Atlantic League Playoffs, another $50,000 would be donated.
Out of the 275 charities that were nominated, 20 local charities, picked randomly will each receive $5,000. The lucky charitable organizations included:

- Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center
- Red Dog Farm
- Boy Scouts
- American Red Cross
- Salvation Army
- Piedmont Land Conservancy

- West Market Street United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund
- Susie’s Hope
- Kid’s Path
- Make-A-Wish Foundation
- Macedonian Baseball League of High Point
- Habitat for Humanity
- Foster Friends of North Carolina
- Greensboro Urban Ministry
- American Cancer Society
On Tuesday October 25, 2011 the Greensboro Grasshoppers presented $100,000 to these charities and we hope that everyone in the Triad and surrounding areas will continue to support the Greensboro Grasshoppers for their ongoing generosity with their Guarantee to Give Program.
