Alcohol Abuse, Alcoholism, National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week

College campus safety is always a factor, especially when abuse happens that involves sensitive issues. National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week is October 18-24, 2015. This issue is one that has had traumatic consequences resulting in such things as alcohol poisoning, sexual abuse, violent assaults, personal injury and even death. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that 10,076 people died in drunk driving crashes in 2013.

Does your college campus have specific policies that would create a safer and healthier campus? Have you run across any student who feels pressured to drink? What campaigns does your sorority, fraternity or other campus organization have in place to better understand alcohol abuse and the consequences that can result from such irresponsibility?

What type of conversation are you having on your college campus? Value yourself. Value your friends. Value your life. Value the lives of others. Be responsible!
