You couldn’t wait to wrap your fingers around those colored wax sticks and find a coloring book, construction paper or a few sheets of plain paper to create your works of art on.

The Crayon Initiative is a Northern California based non-profit organization, founded by Bryan Ware in 2011 that promotes the arts for children, by providing them access to the resources they need. Crayons are a simple concept that takes us back to our childhood. Crayons are a building block for childhood creativity. In the future The Crayon Initiative hopes to expand beyond wax sticks and provide opportunities in other areas of the arts for children. This recycling project keeps old, used crayons from the landfills.
