All the Crawfish You Can Eat for a Cause

Hospice Foundation of the South, Annual Crawfish Cookoff, Crawfish

If crawfish is one of your favorite crustaceans, here’s your chance to eat it 60 different ways, for a good cause. The Hospice Foundation of the South is having their 12th Annual Crawfish Cook-Off on Saturday April 18, 2015, at Fritchie Park in Slidell, Louisiana from 11:00am – 6:00pm. Crawfish will be boiled until 5:00pm. This annual fundraiser will feature 60 teams cooking crawfish with their own special recipes, for a chance to win top awards and prizes for the best tasting crawfish. All crawfish must be consumed on the premises, so come with a healthy appetite because it is All the crawfish you can eat! It is estimated that there will be 48,000 pounds of cooked crawfish available. Awards for the best decorated booth will be given.

Additionally there will be a Kids Zone and other refreshments like hot dogs, hamburgers, beer and soft drinks available for purchase. Tickets can be purchased at Northshore Whitney Banks:

Adults are $30 in advance, $35 at the gate
Children 10 and under are $10

Be sure to check restrictions of what is permitted before you go. You can bring folding chairs into the park, however, pets, ice chests, tents, playpens, tables, trays and outside food/drink are not allowed to be brought into park.

The Hospice Foundation of the South is dedicated to providing resources for medical and emotional care for terminally ill patients and their families. Proceeds from this cookoff event are going to support the work done by the Hospice Foundation of the South and its Hospice House.
