Safe Alliance, Art With Heart, Domestic ViolenceAt Favorite Things for a CAUSE, domestic violence and child abuse are a few topics that’s near and dear to our hearts. While we collaborate with different organizations that cater to fulfilling the needs of women overcoming some personal dire circumstances, we have to applaud organizations like Safe Alliance (formerly known as United Family Services), in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The mission of Safe Alliance is to work with the community and other organizations to help empower people to build and sustain healthy and respectful relationships, free of domestic and sexual violence, as well as child abuse. On Saturday February 1, 2014, Safe Alliance chaired with the Art With Heart committee to present the “Art With Heart 2014 Auction.” This event, held in Founders Hall is a huge fundraiser to support the programs and services of Safe Alliance.

Bill Coy, Media Relations/Communications with Safe Alliance notes, “To pay our bills, we rely on big events like Art With Heart.” The Art With Heart Chairpersons are Hillary Lacouture and Katherine Daly. The emcee for the live auction was Colleen Odegaard, NBC television personality with WCNC-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina. Wade Cantrell was the auctioneer for the event. The evening was amazing and we had the opportunity to be among the 600 who came to support this major cause.
