Give Fifty One, GFO, Child HomelessnessAlexander Greer and Jonathan Jones, co-founders of Give Fifty One (GFO), based in Charlotte, North Carolina formed this visionary organization to meet the needs of homeless children. The both of them have a passion to inspire social change involving youth after becoming aware that their community in Charlotte had an increase of homeless children from 1,038 in 2004 to 4,711 in 2011. They were inspired by Acts 20:35 from the Bible, which states “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Give Fifty One donates 51% of their brand’s profit to bringing awareness to child homelessness. They decided to work in an after-school mentoring program, but discovered that some of their mentee students were homeless. After creating a humanitarian based brand by infusing an idea of social entrepreneurship, they provided direct support to homeless youth through strategic partnerships. Give Fifty One seeks to erase child homelessness, not only in Charlotte, but in the United States and throughout the world
