Please join Favorite Things for a CAUSE today, by wearing the color red to pay tribute to the women who either survived or succumbed to heart disease. Today is National Wear Red Day or Go Red for Women Day. Astoundingly, heart disease continues to kill more women than all cancers combined. There is so much that baffles us about this disease because it is not bias to a specific age, race, religion, creed, educational level or socioeconomic status.

According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease claims the lives of nearly 500,000 American women each year.  “Have a Heart” by learning how you can be an advocate for yourself, the women in your life and even the men in your life. The heart is a delicate organ in our body, yet it is a powerhouse for our bodies. We must be mindful of taking care of our mind, body and spirit more. We can never assume that something like a heart attack or stroke could never happen to you, even if you are the healthiest of healthy. But awareness and proactivity is a great start!

Favorite Things for a CAUSE would love to invite our audience to leave the name of a woman who has either survived a heart attack or heart challenge, or even if they didn’t survive we would like to give you this opportunity to remember them by sharing their name and perhaps a line or two about their relationship to you. Have a wonderful and beautifully RED day!
