VolunteerismAlthough we are advocates of year-round volunteerism, we realize that many people still volunteer or donate money and time to charities and charitable causes during the final quarter of each year. Sometimes people are eager to volunteer, but have no idea where to start or how to go about it. At Favorite Things for a CAUSE, we came up with 3 recommended sites that you can explore and find a myriad of volunteer programs that fits your interests around the country.

Volunteer Match

http://www.volunteermatch.org/ Individuals have an opportunity to find a place and location where they can volunteer and this site is also a place where you can recruit volunteers.

United We Serve http://www.serve.gov/ The President is calling on all Americans to participate in our nation’s recovery and renewal by serving in our communities. This site offers volunteer opportunities, a toolkit for creating your own service project or event, and a place where you can post your service projects.

Volunteer.gov http://www.volunteer.gov/gov/ is America’s Natural and Cultural Resources Volunteer Portal. You can search and apply for volunteer opportunities that suit your interests and availability.

Do something today that will make a difference tomorrow!
